Taipei, Taiwan, July 25, 2018 — QNAP® Systems, Inc. today released Q’center v1.8, an upgraded version that not only extends the host server capacity to ARM-based NAS versions but also adds more features to boost privilege and security administration. As a fundamental management system that consolidates the management of multiple QNAP NAS, Q’center offers immediate and complete advice to assist IT administrators in making crucial decisions with increased efficacy.

“The brand new Q’center focuses more on strengthening security direction in company storage environments, while also making Q’center host servers available for ARM-based NAS to lower the threshold for small and medium businesses to deploy a NAS central management system,” stated Ripple Wu, Product Manager of QNAP.

With Q’center v1.8, QNAP’s brand new 64-bit ARM-based NAS versions can function as host servers to deliver higher cost-efficiency. Besides managing physical QNAP NAS systems, Q’center host servers can now manage vQTS – virtual QTS operating systems. By centrally deploying and tracking multiple vQTS, IT administrators can easily manage integrated NAS experiences such as aspects from vQTS.

Q’center v1.8 adds integration with Windows® Active Directory, allowing multiple NAS to be easily joined to Windows AD and allows the domain users to use the same Windows AD account name and password to connect to various QNAP NAS on your local network. IT administrators also can efficiently create shared folders with accessibility rights affirmation for different AD accounts, letting them save valuable time for other more important tasks.

If unauthorized access is detected, they can quickly change the password and username for multiple NAS programs at the same time using Q’center and centrally collect all the access logs for a greater control of NAS information protection.

Q’center delivers a complete solution for business storage environments. It gives reports for previous and current NAS statistics, along with the capability to make unified and universal NAS settings for managing multiple NAS units efficiently, such as firmware upgrades, program setup, shared folder creation, and freedom settings for multiple customer NAS.

Q’center v1.8 is now available from the QTS App Center.

Q’center host server requirements:

  • QNAP NAS with QTS 4.3.3 (or later).
  • Supported versions: x86-based NAS (Intel or AMD chip ), and 64-bit ARM-based NAS (TS-932X, TS-832X, TS-1635AX and TS-x32XU series)
