Description

TS-1277XU-RP Introduction

The TS-1277XU-RP is an enterprise-tier NAS solution from QNAP. This versatile and high-capacity NAS features 12 SSD-ready bays, and it packs up to 64 GB of RAM. It boasts a processing capacity of six cores and 12 threads, and it features Turbo Core technology that can deliver up to 3.9 GHz of processing power. In addition, you can customize the TS-1277XU-RP using this innovative NAS system’s four Generation 3 PCIe slots, which provides you with the ability to make your NAS wireless or cache SSDs with greater efficiency. Since it’s loaded with the latest version of QTS server management software, the TS-1277XU-RP comes with all of the software solutions you need to optimize your NAS for whichever applications you have in mind.

Ryzen Processing Power

The various models within this line of NAS systems are equipped with either AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processors. Each of these processors features AES-NI encryption acceleration, which delivers incredible processing power while saving energy. If you’re planning to run resource-heavy applications like virtualizations or private clouds, the Ryzen line can provide you with processing power to spare.

Super Powered RAM Capacity

The TS-1277XU-RP line can admit up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, which means that you can run practically unlimited numbers of processes with this innovative NAS system. While you may not feel like you could ever use that much RAM, the more RAM that you install, the more wiggle room you have for storage upgrades and unanticipated applications.

Dual-Channel Memory for Optimized Power Consumption

In addition to its sheer RAM capacity, the TS-1277XU-RP features another exciting RAM-related feature: Since it offers dual-channel memory technology, it handles your RAM access more fluidly than other NAS solutions. Dual-channel memory pairs two of your RAM slots to leverage power consumption more efficiently, which can provide a significant advantage when you’re managing complex virtual environments that process workloads that are constantly shifting.

Go Wireless with PCIe Slots

The TS-1277XU-RP features four Generation 3 PCIe slots, which means that your opportunities for customization with this NAS system are practically endless. For instance, you can add a Wi-Fi card to your server to free it from corded restrictions and allow it to communicate directly with devices that aren’t hardwired to your network. This feature allows you to share the network resources of your NAS with multiple devices, and QNAP’s native Wi-Fi card (QWA-AC2600) interfaces seamlessly with WirelessAP Station, which is preloaded with the QTS network management software from QNAP.

Qtier 2.0 Technology for Maximized SSD Performance

This NAS solution’s PCIe slots also allow you to install a QNAP QM2 card, which optimizes M.2 SSD handling. In particular, this card takes SSD caching to a whole new level, which rockets your read and write speeds into the stratosphere. The QM2 card helps you manage demanding applications like virtualization with ease, and it interfaces fluidly with the Qtier 2.0 technology that is included with your TS-1277XU-RP NAS. This updated version of Qtier optimizes SSD tiered storage by creating a reserved space that works as a cache, and Qtier 2.0 works with M.2 SSD, SSD, and SATA drives. If you combine a QM2 card with the TS-1277XU-RP ‘s native Qtier technology, your input/output throughput will flow like a dream.

Extra Power for GPU Applications

The TS-1277XU-RP features a 300W power supply, which means that it is equipped to handle the power needs of a variety of low-profile graphics cards. If you plug an AMD Radeon or NVIDIA graphics card into one of the PCIe slots on your TS-1277XU-RP , you’ll note an incredible increase in your ability to transfer and transform video files, which makes it easier for you to share A/V projects throughout your team. Since the power supply that’s included with this NAS solution supports graphics cards that don’t require power cables, you can install a wide variety of different types of GPUs into your TS-1277XU-RP . This NAS contains four PCIe slots, so you can equip it with a GPU without compromising your ability to install other game-changing accessories.

TS-1277XU-RP supports multiple graphic cards

Optimized for AI

When you combine high-end graphics cards and the TS-1277XU-RP ‘s native QuAI developer package, you gain the ability to rapidly build, train, and apply AI-based services. When you use AI and machine learning to manage your data, your ability to maximize profits and improve the value of your business is unleashed on an unprecedented scale.

iSER Protocols for VMware Optimization

Since the TS-1277XU-RP features Mellanox ConnectX-4 technology, it supports the iSER protocol, which boosts data transfer performance in VMware virtualization and other data-intensive applications. The iSER protocol allows data to pass directly from memory to the ethernet ports on your NAS, which eliminates the barrier created by socket layers and network drivers.

QTS with Qboost

QTS, the operating system that’s installed on the TS-1277XU-RP , is modularized for enhanced management efficiency. It features Qboost technology, which accelerates and schedules applications. It also frees up system resources, and it makes all of the hundreds of apps available in the App Center operate more fluidly. In addition to new features like Qboost, the version of QTS that’s loaded onto the QNAP TS-1277XU-RP also contains all of your favorite server management applications like Q’center, QmailAgent, Browser Station, IFTTT Agent, DJ2 Live, and more. Plus, you can take advantage of QNAP’s mobile suite to manage your server remotely anywhere you go.

Virtualization Station and Container Station for Intuitive Virtualization

QTS features Virtualization Station and Container Station, which are intuitive apps that allow you to make virtual machines and containers with ease. With Virtualization Station, you can run multiple Windows, Linux, Unix, and Android virtual machines that can be accessed from a browser or a VNC. Container Station uses Docket and LXC virtualization technologies to support container permissions and import/export protocols.

vQTS for Multiple Server Management Software Virtualizations

While the TS-1277XU-RP certainly handles workstation virtualization with ease, it also allows you to run multiple virtualizations of QTS simultaneously. Instead of using multiple physical NAS systems, you can simply run multiple iterations of QTS on the same NAS, which helps you optimize space, costs, and power consumption. Each QTS virtualization can be used by different technicians in various departments of your company.

Comprehensive Backup Solution for Windows and Mac

QNAP’s NetBak Replicator utility handles backup and restoration of Windows and Mac devices, and the TS-1277XU-RP supports 256 snapshots per volume. This NAS solution also offers VM backup solutions, and it features Hybrid Backup Sync, which allows you to transfer data to local, remote, and cloud storage spaces.

Connectivity

This NAS solution features four USB 3.1 ports and two 10GbE SFP+ ports. Since the TS-1277XU-RP also contains four Generation 3 PCIe ports, this NAS provides you with the ability to install other connectivity hardware like Wi-Fi cards and 10GbE to 40GbE adapters.

Application and Use Case

The TS-1277XU-RP is best applied in medium-scale enterprise applications with 100 employees or more. Since it boasts a relatively large power supply and GPU compatibility, it is equipped for sharing A/V projects throughout your team, but its versatility also makes it perfectly equipped to serve as a basic data management and backup system. The entry-level TS-1277XU-RP-1200-4G-US MSRP is $2,499, and MSRP of the high-end TS-1277XU-RP-2600-8G-US model is $2,799.
